Channel Dobson

MSN, FNP-C, RN

Channel Dobson is a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) born and raised in North Carolina, Ms. Dobson received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Winston Salem State University and her Master’s Degree from Western Carolina University. Ms. Dobson began her nursing career as a hospital-based registered nurse, but left the hospital to pursue a career in public heath where she immediately found her passion for providing community-based health services. She was recognized by the state of North Carolina for service as a volunteer shelter nurse during the 2017 Hurricane Matthew relief efforts along the NC coast. Ms. Dobson is passionate about educating her patients and families on their health conditions and believes education is the key to empowering individuals to take control of their health and wellbeing.

Nurse Practitioners are licensed to provide a variety of healthcare services including diagnosis & treatment of acute & chronic health conditions, ordering & interpreting laboratory tests, prescribing medications & helping you understand your healthcare needs.

What is a Nurse Practitioner?

No. Fees are offered at a discounted rate which allows us to spend more time providing care without the burden of insurance requirements.

By not accepting insurance, we can provide healthcare services for all patients regardless of type of insurance coverage. No one is turned away because of lack of insurance coverage or for being out-of-network.

Do you accept insurance?

We currently accept cash and all major credit cards. 

FSA, HSA & Flex spending cards also accepted.

What payment methods do you accept?

  • We will provide all necessary documentation, prior authorizations and coding required for any adjunct services needed (e.g. labs, imaging, specialists referrals)

  • Medical emergencies will be referred to local emergency department

What if I need more complex care?

  • We accept most patients ages 18 and older who meet our eligibility criteria.

  • Patients not eligible include:

  • Patients with 5 or more chronic medical conditions

  • Patients with unstable or uncontrolled chronic conditions

  • Patients with 5 or more prescription medications

  • Patients requiring multiple specialty services

  • Patients with frequent hospitalizations 

Who is eligible to be a patient?

  • We make every effort to provide as much assistance during each visit to prevent having to return more than necessary.

    • Some problems are more complex and require more time than we can give during 1 visit. In this case, we will address your most urgent needs and schedule an additional appointment in a timely manner. 

Am I limited to 1 problem per visit?

  • All initial appointments to establish care are completed in the office. Return visits and certain simple acute problems can be addressed virtually by telephone or video chat.
